The Constitutional Monarchy Association raised concerns following reports that “UK Government” could become the primary public-facing identity for official communications, potentially reducing the visibility of the constitutional designation “His Majesty’s Government”.
The CMA highlighted that this title reflects an important constitutional principle: that executive authority is exercised in the name of the Crown and that governments operate within a framework that extends beyond any individual administration.
CMA Action
The CMA wrote to Members of Parliament across the political spectrum to raise awareness of the issue and request clarification on the continued use of “His Majesty’s Government”.
